Meet Joanne
I’m a professionally trained interior designer with a diploma in Interior Design from Sheridan College, graduating in 2016 with strong academic standing. After completing my formal education, I pursued my NCIDQ certification — a rigorous qualification that includes an apprenticeship-style work experience and a comprehensive three-day exam. I’m a proud member of ARIDO and stay current on evolving building codes, accessibility standards, and life safety regulations through ongoing education and training.
My love for design started early. As a kid, I was constantly rearranging my bedroom to maximize space and toy storage, experimenting with new paint colors to shift the mood. I was drawn to all things creative — from floral arranging to DIY crafts — and I fell in love with the idea that a space could change how we feel, move, and connect.
While shows like Trading Spaces sparked my early curiosity, my deeper studies showed me that interior design is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about intention — how every inch of space is used, how it flows, and how it supports your life or business. I believe that good design is both beautiful and highly functional. Poorly planned environments lead to wasted time, energy, and money — but smart design makes every square foot work harder and feel better.

But beyond credentials, I’m also a wife, a mom of two little ones, and an animal lover (especially dogs!). I understand firsthand how important it is for your environment to work for your life — not against it. Whether it’s creating better storage for a growing family, choosing materials that can stand up to kids and pets, or designing a home office that helps you focus and breathe — wellness is always top of mind.
I believe good design is about more than beautiful finishes. It’s about creating spaces that make you feel happy, calm, and supported the moment you walk in — whether it’s your home or your workplace. That philosophy guides every project I take on, and I bring a thoughtful, practical approach to every design decision to ensure your space feels as good as it looks.
